Happy Ash Wednesday!

Hey guys! It’s Ash Wednesday!

Went to the mass earlier, and bought some ice cream right after. Was really yummy, and I think we nearly finished it after lunch…

Took some pictures while my parents paid for some Spanish Bread in the same bakery with the ice cream. You should really try those bread, it has this sweet filling that tastes really good.

Also made a “sculpture” of an animal for art… Had to skip it before since I didn’t have any clay. It looks weird…

So, yeah, the picture for today! (remember: I did not take it)

ICE CREAM! Looks good…

Been More Than a Week

Hey guys…

I haven’t updated for about two weeks and I’m really sorry for that. I just haven’t gotten any ideas (or those ideas are just too embarrassing for me to post-more particularly, stories) to post in here.

Those pictures I promised you in the last post? Uh, well-I can’t post them right now. My computer’s got problems, and I can’t transfer those pictures from my camera to my iPod.

Anyway, here’s a picture I found in the web (meaning: I DIDN’T take it-it’s not mine, and I have no rights over it. I’m simply sharing what I found). I might be able to share some pictures a few times a week, I’ll even try everyday, but I make no promises to make it frequent. I’m really busy, but since it’s almost summer I’m sure I can make up some time.

Bye! Thanks so much for reading.

To The Beach :)

Today is my sister’s 4th birthday. Apparently, she loves the beach, so my mom and dad decided that we’d go today.

But we haven’t gone yet, so I’ll just say that I’m really sorry for not writing for a really long time.

The only interesting thing happening right now is that Chia is singing a made-up song in which she repeats “When you keep your glasses!”

So, I’ll probably post in another day, since the beach probably doesn’t have wi-fi. The thing is, when you write about your experiences, and have nothing interesting happening, there’s nothing to write.

And I will post some pictures, if I can. See you! :)

A Waterproof Camera!

The Nikon AW100, a waterproof (up to 33 shocking feet!) and shockproof (which was proved true in some occasions for me) up to about 5 feet camera! AWESOME!

Yup. So, I’ve decided to write a post (or review) about the camera I’ve gotten… for Christmas.

It has a CMOS sensor (whatever that is, it’s better then other sensors XD), too! Meaning, higher quality!

It has 5x zoom, full HD (1080p) video recording, GPS + electronic compass (as you will see in it’s website page). There are many different scenes (even an underwater one!), and it has image stabilization (which, for me, doesn’t work well with flash turned off. Bummer.). It can reach up 3200 ISO (but turns really noisy at above 400 or 800, which is bad), and has 16 megapixels. It has this “Action Control” so you could shake your camera left/right instead of pressing buttons. I’ve tried this, and it’s good and all, but I like the buttons much better.

(You can check it out some more at it’s page: http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product/Compact-Digital-Cameras/26293/COOLPIX-AW100.html#tab-ProductDetail-ProductTabs-Overview)

But – the question is (for you, probably) – does it really work, and is it worth the money (yes, it’s really expensive)?

Answer: Yes, it’s worth the money… Well, personally, I think they made it a bit too expensive… XD

Of course, these products are probably machine made, so there could be some certain AW100′s that has faults, but it’s probably not Nikon’s fault.

So, let me explain how to keep your beautiful, new camera safe. You’d find this in the manual, but if you’re too lazy to read it (I’m not. XD), fine to me. But you should read it.

You probably have an exhausted battery. To know this, it either won’t start up even with the battery put in properly, or it turned off with the words “BATTERY EXHAUSTED”. Either case, you should charge you battery. RIGHT NOW.

In the manual, it says:

  1. Connect the power cable in the order indicated below.

(Ok, since I can’t put the picture in here, I’ll explain. You plug the part with two circles [XD Bad way of putting it] to the battery charger, and the other to an electrical outlet in the wall.)

2.  Insert the battery into the battery charger by sliding the battery forward, and press down until it locks into place.

  • CHARGE lamp starts blinking when charging starts.
  • A fully exhausted battery charges in about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • When charging is completed, the CHARGE lamps stops blinking.

3. When charging is complete, remove the battery, and unplug the adapter.

That is how you properly charge the battery. Keep this in mind, please.

Another tip is that you should keep your camera in water (yes, like underwater) for only 60 minutes. Else water could seep in.

So, starting the review.

Does it actually work?

Yes, yes it does.

I’ve fully submerged it in water (both salty and fresh [or clean], and it’s awesome. Well, I panicked at first). I’ve taken lots of pictures underwater, and no damage was done!

And, I dropped it several times already! Hmm.. Still as good as new!

I admit, though, I’ve used it underwater only in a low… depth. XD

How about the quality?

Ahh, the quality… Well, why don’t you see for yourself? I’ll post some pictures, but I also recommend you go to flickr.com and type into the search bar “AW100″. Of course, you should click interesting for better images. Check this photo out (it’s in flickr).

Happy Late New Year!

Happy late new year, guys!

I know, this is probably a late greeting. I haven’t been able to gather up some time and write and publish a post, but it’s here now.

So, how is the beginning of the year for you? Hope it’s great! I wasn’t able to take pictures of new year at my place, because my camera went “Battery Exhausted” on me. And things were getting better, too. The fireworks from the other neighborhood were getting high enough for us to see! And there was a fountain of fireworks right in our neighborhood! Oh, well.

Today, we went to the mall and got yummy ice cream just after we entered! It was from Mr. Softy, too! I really love the ice cream there, and, if you haven’t tried it, you should go and grab one (as in, buy one).

I got a new book, too! Inkspell. These days are a good start for new year to me.

And, we got to eat Chicken BonChon‘s chicken! Probably the most… tasty fried chicken in the country (maybe the whole world! But I wouldn’t know).

Yup.

So, yeah, good night (or morning. afternoon, or even evening), and have a happy new year!

Our Trip to Coron!

Well,

Just before Christmas, me and the family (on Dad’s side) went on a trip to Palawan. It’s really awesome there! :)

And my dad allowed me to use my camera (my Christmas gift) before it was even Christmas to take pictures of Coron! :D

When we arrived to the resort, we went straight to our hut. It had dozens of mosquitos flying around. First thing I noticed is that there was one air conditioner inside each room (well, maybe except for the bathroom?)

So, I (along with my sister) went to the resort’s restaurant. From the restaurant, you get this really cool view of the sea.

Uhm, yah... Not really...

The view from the restaurant.

And the resort has puppies!

See those three puppies?

Cute, aren’t they?

We went around (well, not really) Coron for 3 days. Swimming, taking pictures, going up and down stairs…. Yup. It was awesome! :)

Fishes!

More Fishes!

Kayangan Lake :)

Erm... Kayangan Lake, again.

One of the the lakes we went to (called Twin Lagoon) had both warm and cold parts. Most of those who were in the water sang ABC, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, and Baa, BaaBlack Sheep. It was my Ninang’s idea. XD

We also got to see a Japanese shipwrecks. I didn’t get any nice pictures of the shipwreck, though, because it was kinda deep. But it was right below us, of course.

When one of my Hawaii cousins looked down, she panicked… A bit. Well, it was a little scary. I don’t know how, it’s just that when you look down, and find it right below you, it’s surprising.

The last place we went to was Banana Island. Enzo slept almost the whole time there. When we were about to leave,  he started wanting to swim. Ah, well, he couldn’t. But he tried to hit some chickens with a ball.

After a night of rest, we left the resort, saying bye to the dogs and puppies. We went back to the airport through a spacious van, and there weren’t any delays this time with the airplane (Yay!)

I’ll miss it there. XD
